In case you missed the message:

Joel 2:1 – “Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand…”

Psalm 110:1 – “The LORD said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’”

Day 1: Called to the Remnant

In a world filled with noise and distraction, there is a distinct, spiritual trumpet sounding—a call for believers to awaken and find their place in God’s great narrative. The book of Joel urges us to “blow the trumpet in Zion,” an instruction that serves as a prophetic utterance to the saints to pay attention to the times we are living in.

But what exactly is Zion today? Zion is the “church within the church”. It is the overcoming church. Above all, Zion is the specific place where the presence of the Lord is truly at home.

“To have found God and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love.”A.W. Tozer

God is looking for a people who are not just casually acquainted with Him, but a group He can call the “Remnant Company”. The Lord will use this remnant—those who are the “sold-out ones”—to do mighty things in the final days. This is the group of believers that will be used by God to fulfill the promise of Psalm 110:1, making His enemies His footstool.

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness. True devotion to God is the highest form of enjoyment.”Charles Spurgeon

Being part of this company requires a deeply rooted, uncompromising love for Christ. It requires a heart check to determine if we are merely going through the motions of religion, or if Jesus is truly the most important thing in our lives. We are invited to be the ones who carry His presence, the ones who stand firm, and the ones who passionately seek the heart of God before all else.

Reflection Question

  • Examine your heart today: Is Jesus truly the most important thing in your life, and are you living as a “sold-out” member of the overcoming church?

Life Application

  • Evaluate Your Devotion: Take inventory of where you spend your time, energy, and resources. Identify any areas where your love for the Lord has grown cold or complacent, and ask Him to reignite that fire.
  • Cultivate a Home for His Presence: Since Zion is where the presence of the Lord is at home, make your daily life—your thoughts, your conversations, and your private spaces—a welcoming environment for the Holy Spirit.
  • Embrace the Call: Intentionally choose to be part of the remnant today. Commit to standing firm in faith, even if you are in the minority, trusting that God uses the sold-out ones for His ultimate victory.

Lord God,

As the prophetic trumpet sounds, awaken our hearts to Your call. We desire to be part of Zion, the overcoming church within the church. Make our daily lives, our thoughts, and our quiet spaces a place where Your presence is truly at home.

Strip away our worldly distractions and spiritual complacency. We ask that You would count us among Your Remnant Company in these final days. Transform us into the “sold-out ones” who stand firm in faith, trusting that You will use us to make Your enemies Your footstool.

Reignite our devotion so that Jesus remains the most important thing in our lives. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may faithfully carry Your presence and take Your light into a darkened world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
