Been a while since I posted due to seminary keeping me very busy. I did not realize the amount of reading required. Most weeks I am reading between 3-4 chapters of each textbook, and typically 3 textbooks per class for a total of 9-12 chapters a week in addition to watching lecture videos and doing assignments (typically discussion thread posts and replies or academic papers. Bear in mind that I am managing a CPA firm at the same time, and volunteer at the VA one day a week. Most students describe it as trying to drink from a firehose–information overload. You don’t really have time to absorb the information before it is time to do the assignment and move on to the next week.

That being said, today, I had one of those moments where you feel dumb for not seeing something before:

I noticed a connection between Isaiah 58:6-7, Matthew 7:21-23; 25:31-46 as I was looking at the spiritual disciplines of service, stewardship, and fasting.
